Volkswagen Window Switch

Window Up, Window Down (In just a switch)

Car manufacturers like Volkswagen have continued to innovate on new ideas for their own lines of vehicles. This has been fueled by customer demand, as their tastes continue to change. More and more people have been enticed to buy their own “customized” vehicles, thus bringing forth cars with such things as high performance this and that. Aside from these features, car manufacturers have been known to add a few perks there and that, providing customers with fine features that evoke an image of class and wealth. Some of these features provide utmost convenience, such as the Volkswagen window switch.

Window switches come alongside power windows. Power windows, compared to the manually-operated windows, are a lot easier to open and close. A simple push or touch of a button, and voila! The window is opened or closed. In a typical installation, there are individual switches at each window. There is also a set of switches at the driver's side, so that the driver can control all windows. However, some models have a center-console bank of switches, which is accessible to all, thus eliminating the need for individual door-mounted switches.

The window switch is used to control the opening and closing mechanism of the Volkswagen's power windows. The window switch comes in three types: the toggle switch, the rocket switch and the lever switch. The last is frequently recommended for the vehicle owners with young children who are always on board. Lever switches are designed with only one main purpose: safety. Unlike other window switches, lever switches do not easily allow the window to be raised immediately. In order to have the window glass raised, the lever has to be pulled up first. Kids usually love to take their heads out of windows while traveling, and this presents a very dangerous situation if the window switch is accidentally pressed. With the lever switch, accidents can be prevented due to the fact that the window is not being easily opened.

Rocker switches, are not child-friendly, unlike the lever switches. Upon pressing it accidentally or purposely, the window glass will go up or down. This presents a problem when the child's head is outside the window. Rocker switches are not usually recommended for car owners who have kids. Toggle switches have to be pushed forward or backward in order for it to work.

Whatever switches you have in your car, it is advisable that it must always be free from dirt and dust. Be sure that it is always working properly by making a few checks here and there. When your Volkswagen window switches become dirty, it may cause your windows to malfunction. Regular checkups and maintenance should be done to ensure that the windows switches are in proper working condition.
