Safeguard for a more efficient engine

Save five Marks a week, if you want to drive your own car.

Volkswagen car owner has it easy maintaining their car. Stock-fitted with best-in-class car parts, Volkswagen cars need little things else but maintenance. One of the most common causes of engine failure is dirty or contaminated fuel. Dirty fuel may contain several contaminants like rust, dirt or even paint chips. When these contaminants are present in your fuel as it enters the fuel injection system, they can cause abrasions. If left unfiltered, dirty fuel can result in rapid wear and failure of the fuel pump and injectors. This, in turn, will affect engine performance and rob the car of horsepower.

Today's modern engines are more susceptible to dirt buildup than ever before. It was found that deposits could start forming in the fuel injection system after covering 1,500 miles of ground. Studies also show that deposits can decrease fuel efficiency by as much as 11 percent. You can prevent this by making your car better equipped with a Volkswagen fuel filter. The Volkswagen fuel filter is a device that sifts impurities from the fuel before it reaches the carburetor. To safeguard the system, a fuel filter is usually fitted on the carburetor in the fuel line, on the outlet port of the fuel pump, or inside the carburetor or fuel pump itself.

Because a fuel filter is regularly exposed to bad fuel, regular maintenance is a must if it is to sift dirt efficiently and preserve the optimal operating range of the Volkswagen engine. A contaminated fuel filter can restrict fuel flow from the electric fuel pump, reducing engine performance. It is recommended that fuel filters are replaced every two years or at least every 24,000 miles of ground covered.

The most common sign that your filter already needs replacement is the loss of power at acceleration or at highway speeds. Be sure to check your Volkswagen fuel filter regularly. A poor fuel filter does not only cause inconveniences on the road, but can squander your car of precious horsepower.
